Cold Process Soap Testing Notes

Tested at 5% FO load, 1/10/24 with a recipe containing 30% lye concentration (water:lye ratio 2.300:1) with 5% superfat at 90 degrees. Recipe is 33% organic and sustainable palm oil, 33% coconut oil, 16% canola oil, 14.9% olive oil, 3% castor oil, and 0.01% vitamin E oil.

Acceleration:  Results have varied. Moderate to strong, please test your recipe.

Ricing: Reported frequently

Discoloration: None

Trace: Moves quickly after FO addition

Design Notes: Plan for acceleration and possible ricing. Best suited for simple designs (single colors or basic layers). Hand-stirring fragrance can help, but results are inconsistent. Many soapers recommend this FO for HP soap or non-soap products.
