Sweet Almond Oil ... Prunis Amygdalus dulcis, is an excellent emollient and is known for its ability to soften and re-condition the skin. The oil has long been a popular base for massage and body care but massage therapists should note that straight vegetable oils such as this can stain sheets. Cold pressed.
Common uses: As an emollient in general skincare, as a carrier oil for Aromatherapy and as a massage oil formulation base. This is classified as a Virgin oil which is a term designed by the food industry as a measure of quality. While it isn't necessarily as relevant for cosmetic use, some brands prefer purchasing virgin quality oils where possible. Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin. Moisturising; softening; fast penetrating; rich in essential fatty acids & vitamins A & E. L ow odour, very stable oil, good occlusive properties. Popular in cream & massage products.
